Where are the golf courses where we will play? In the eastern Pyrenees which form the border with Spain, a coastal and mountain area of spectacular scenery and diverse culture. It is also one of the least populated areas in Europe, and is a nature lovers paradise. All the courses are within an hour of Sanglier lodge.
1. Falgos (www.falgos.com) is set in breathtaking scenery at an altitude of 650m in the mountains near the lodge, has been rated as one of the most beautiful golf course in Europe. This is a 5044m, 18 hole, par 70 course. At the Falgos golf club itself there is an indoor swimming pool, a fully equipped gym, aromatherapy, saunas wet and dry, jacuzzi, tennis courts, a children’s play area and a good restaurant.
2 The golf course at Saint Cyprien (www.opengolfclub.com) is situated right on the Mediterranean coast near to Perpignan that is renowned for its abundant supply of sunshine. There is both an 18 hole, 6480m, par 73 course and a 9 hole, 2724m, par 35 course available. For those not playing golf, the beaches are nearby and there is Aqualand at St Cyprien, a giant water park with chutes, a wave pool, a paddle pool, waterslides, etc, perfect for kids.
3 The golf course at Figueres is in Spain on the Costa Brava – also home of the Salvador Dali museum. This TorreMirona course (www.torremirona.com) lives up to the best that Spain has to offer with views up to the Pyrenean mountain range and across to the nearby Mediterranean. This is an 18 hole, par 72 course. For the non-golfers we take the opportunity to visit the Salvador Dali museum as well as the very picturesque seaside village of Cadaques where Salvador Dali lived.
4 The golf course at Camprodon is a 9 hole mountain course near Setcases, one of the skiing areas of Spain. This makes the other courses look as flat as a bowling green so you won't be short of a challenge. Camprodon itself is a charming medieval city, and there are many other attractions in the area for the non golfers.
