Cycling for Corporate Health!

A typical four-day cycling experience from Sanglier lodge...

There are a huge number of options depending on conditions and the interests of the group. If folks start feeling a little tired, we often mellow the programme towards more sedentary pursuits. Nothing is set in stone!

Day 1. Assuming the sun is shining brightly, we'll head off after breakfast over the Col d'en Xatard on a tiny, traffic free rroad towards the Prades valley to the north. The ride has fabulous views of the eastern face of Mount canigou, and we'll have a picnic lunch en route with a view of the sea. Once in the Prades valley we might visit a limestone cave or ancient monastry, before driving back to Sanglier lodge.

Day 2. A Costa Brava day! We have a late breakfast and then drive down to the coast. The ride starts near Argeles beach, south of Perpignan, and we spin gently along the coast road through the charming port of Collioure, thence on through Port Vendres and along the twisty coastal road into Spain, where we will end near Llanca, or perhaps Cadaques, home of Salvadore Dali, taking refreshments on the way. After a refreshing swim in the sea and shower, we'll dine in a lovely little waterfront restaurant in Cadaques and then drive home after dinner.

Day 3. After breakfast we'll ride directly from the lodge, along tiny roads to a mountain pass which leads us into Spain and down to Lake Boedella, a beautiful fresh water lake where we'll swim, picnic and go from there, if we feel so inclined, by road to the Salvadore Dali museum in Figueres. That should be enough for one day!

Day 4. We set off from the lodge, ride through Prats de Mollo and then over the Col d'Ares into Spain. We end up in the tiny hamlet of Rocabruna, where one of the finest restaurants in the area is to be found. We while away the afternoon there, before ambling back [in the bus, of course! ] to Sanglier for an early night.
