The '92 Summer olympics revisited... < back

This program harks back to the 1992 Barcelona Olympics

Considered by many to be the most successful Olympic Games ever - as for the first time in three decades there was no boycott.

Paralympics archer Antonio Rebollo lit the Olympic Flame by firing a burning arrow towards the cauldron. The arrow passed over the cauldron, which was emanating gas at that moment. The gas ignited and the cauldron burst into flame. The Olympic symbol towers over the city from Montjuic Mountain.

In this program two teams compete against each other in the form of a relay race with physical and intellectual obstacles to overcome, in order to bring the Olympic torch to its final resting place. Participants work in threes or fours, and, following a series of clues, must carry the torch to the next group of three or four in the team, who in turn follows different clues to the next group.

The final anchor man, or woman will alone run the torch to its final resting place. A Team cat facilitator follows each pair to prod them in the right direction if they go horribly wrong, so each mini team will get to carry the torch, but which team gets there first?
